Care Guide
Looking after your pieces properly is what keeps them wearable for years. Below is how to care for each material we use.
LEATHER, FAUX LEATHER & SUEDE
Leather is a natural material that softens and develops character with wear. It needs occasional conditioning to stay supple.
Faux leather is a synthetic alternative. It needs no conditioning, but it dislikes heat and will crack if left in direct sun or near a radiator.
Suede has a soft napped surface. It marks easily and should be kept dry.
- Cleaning: wipe with a soft, dry cloth after wear. For suede, use a suede brush to lift the nap — never soak it.
- Avoid: water, direct heat, and prolonged sunlight.
- Storage: keep in a dust bag with filler paper to hold the shape. Avoid crowding, which causes creasing.
GARMENTS
Cotton is a natural, breathable fibre.
- Machine wash cold or warm on a gentle cycle. Tumble dry low or hang to dry — high heat shrinks it.
Linen is made from the fibres of the flax plant. It creases by nature; that is part of how it looks.
- Hand wash or machine wash cold on a gentle cycle. Lay flat or hang to dry away from direct sunlight. Iron while slightly damp.
Cotton-linen and cotton-hemp blends follow the same rules as linen. Wash cold, dry away from direct heat.
Denim is a durable cotton weave that holds dye heavily when new.
- Wash inside-out in cold water, separately or with similar colours, to prevent dye transfer. Wash infrequently to keep the colour and fit. Air dry or tumble dry low.
Corduroy has a raised pile that flattens if handled roughly.
- Wash inside-out in cold water on a gentle cycle. Hang to dry. Iron inside-out on low, or steam.
Flannel is a brushed cotton weave.
- Machine wash cold and tumble dry low. Avoid fabric softener, which flattens the brushed surface.
Wool is a natural fibre that resists odour and needs washing far less often than you would think.
- Hand wash cold with a wool detergent, or dry clean. Do not wring. Lay flat to dry, reshaping while damp. Airing a wool garment overnight is usually enough between wears.
Cashmere is a fine natural yarn and the most delicate thing we sell.
- Hand wash gently in cold water with cashmere shampoo or a mild detergent. Do not soak, wring or hang. Lay flat to dry, reshaping while damp. Remove pilling with a cashmere comb rather than pulling.
Knitwear covers our sweaters, cardigans and knit polos.
- Hand wash cold or use a wool cycle. Lay flat to dry. Fold rather than hang — hanging stretches the shoulders permanently.
Fleece and sherpa are synthetic pile fabrics.
- Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle. Tumble dry low or air dry. Avoid fabric softener and high heat, both of which mat the pile.
Faux fur needs gentle handling to keep its loft.
- Spot clean with a damp cloth where possible. If washing, use cold water on a delicate cycle inside a laundry bag. Air dry only — never tumble dry. Brush gently once dry to restore the pile.
General: fasten buttons and zips before washing to protect hardware and prevent snagging.
BAGS
Canvas and woven bags are hard-wearing but absorb marks.
- Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap, then air dry fully before storing. Keep out of prolonged damp. Store upright with filler paper so the shape holds.
JEWELLERY
Our jewellery is made from stainless steel, titanium and set with cubic zirconia.
- Cleaning: wipe with a soft, dry cloth after each wear.
- Avoid: perfume, lotion, chlorine and salt water. Put jewellery on last when dressing and take it off first.
- Storage: keep in a cool, dry place, ideally in a fabric-lined box or pouch to avoid scratches.
EYEWEAR
- Clean lenses with a microfibre cloth, never with a shirt tail or paper tissue — both scratch coatings.
- Store in the case. Leaving eyewear face-down or in a hot car warps frames.
WATCHES
- Wipe the case and strap with a soft, dry cloth after wear.
- Silicone straps can be rinsed with cool water and dried fully. Leather straps should be kept dry.
- Avoid operating the crown or pushers while the watch is wet.
